Larnaca has retained its elegant colonial style charm. It has a delightful mile long promenade lined with palm trees, known as The Phinnikoudes (The Palm Trees) area, which dominates the bustling town. This stretch of picturesque sea front stretches from its marina at one end, to an ancient medieval fortress at the other, with cafes, tavernas and shops whilst retaining its relaxed, leisurely atmosphere. The fortress castle is now the town’s cultural centre - cultural life being very rich in Larnaca, with many events being organised weekly by the town’s Municipality.

The town has a great variety of modern shops which are well stocked and cater well for expats. The medical facilities are excellent. Security in the streets, both day and night, is unsurpassed.

The Larnaca region undoubtedly has the best sandy beaches in the whole of southern Cyprus, which extends 25km. Mackenzie beach is particularly known for its white sands, clear blue water and excellent fresh fish restaurants.
